Hettermann-Hobbs, Janie, I was born into the loving family of Don and Louise Twigg Hettermann in Memphis, TN, both now deceased. I have an older sister, Kay Hettermann Chester and a younger brother Gary Hettermann. I am thankful for the day that Robert Hobbs took my hand and never let it go. With this marriage, I have a combined family of five children: my three boys, Todd Roberts, Jason Roberts (An Nguyen), Seth Roberts and Robert's daughters Suzanne Hagy (David Hagy) and Michelle Banks (George Banks). Our family has been blessed with 6 grandchildren Ella Werthan, Meier Werthan, Toby Werthan, Isabella Banks, Adelaide Banks and Avery Linh Roberts. Most of my career life was spent as a nurse in Maternal-Child Health and feel that the experiences I had as a nurse made me a better person, especially the years spent in Public Health. While I had a wonderful nursing career, my most important job was that of a mother. Raising my boys has been my greatest joy. After an extended illness of ovarian cancer, I passed away on April 19, 2015 at The Residence of Alive Hospice with family at my side. I would like to thank Dr. Pat Murphy and Dr. Jeffrey Infante for the compassionate care they gave me. Also thanks to all of the staff at Sarah Cannon Research Institute and for the miracles they work and Gilda's Club for support. I was blessed with family and friends that provided on-going love and support during this journey. Words can not express my gratitude.
