Mrs. J.E. (Byrdie) Robinson, age 94, died peacefully in her home on August 25, 2016. A talented seamstress, Mrs. Robinson made her living sewing for others as well as caring for children in her home. Born in Marshville, NC and raised on a farm helping her parents, Cullie Clayton and Permila Drucilla (Hargett) Helms and seven brothers and sisters, Byrdie continued her love of gardening and cooking throughout her life. She considered it a privilege and joy to provide for others. Byrdie had a deep faith and enthusiastically supported her church. After attending Southside Baptist and SonRise Church when she lived in Charlotte, NC, she found her final church family at West Franklin Baptist Church after moving to Tennessee in 2009. She leaves behind many friends there. In her later years, Byrdie lived at Legacy Crossing/Brookdale Franklin and with her daughter and son-in-law. She developed a love of reading and continued to engage with friends and family until her last days.
Mrs. Robinson is preceded in death by her husband, Sloan M. Robinson. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah "Kay" (Devon) Boan of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, John Boan of Atlanta, Ga., Jordan Boan of Brentwood, TN, and Madison Boan of Birmingham, UK; brother, Leon (Carolyn) Helms and sister, Willene Lemmond of Monroe, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Matt Pearson officiating. Interment at Williamson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be members of West Franklin Baptist Church--Larry Dale, Don Gower, Roy McDaniel, Colon Pope, Lin Taylor, and Andy Watson. Memorials may be made to the Hope for the World Missions offering at West Franklin Baptist Church or to Alive Hospice in Nashville. Visitation with the family will be 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM on Sunday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, 615-794-2289.
