Jewell Denney

Mrs. Jewell Catherine Bennett Denney, age 95 of the Bethesda Community, passed away March 4, 2016. First female barber in the State of Tennessee and retired at the age of 93. She was a passionate quilter, loved canning and gardening. Preceded in death by her husband, Jim Denney and sisters, Allene Bennett and Rachel Bennett Lane. Survived by: brothers, Jimmie Dee (Mattie Ruth) Bennett, Jr., Paris Bennett & Johnny (Christine) Bennett; sister, Esther Rainey and Marie (Otis) Bentley; twenty one nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Jim Taylor officiating. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be nephews and great nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of Peytonsville Church of Christ and Bethesda Senior Citizens. Memorials may be made to Peytonsville Church of Christ or Bethesda Senior Citizens.
