John McCord, Jr.

Mr. John Millard McCord, Jr. age 76 of Franklin, TN passed away October 6, 2016 at his home. Graduate of Battle Ground Academy and inducted into the BGA Sports Hall of Fame in 2010. Received his Bachelor's degree from David Lipscomb University and his Master's degree from Middle TN State University. He taught in the Williamson County School System for 41 years where he was the recipient of the Williamson County Teacher of the Year and he also coached for Williamson County Schools for 25 years. Preceded in death by parents, John Millard, Sr. & Mary Katherine Northcross McCord; brother in-law, Steve Johnston. Survived by wife of 40 years, Diane McCord; son, Britt (Allison) McCord; daughter, Kristin (Nick) Wilson; brothers, James H. "Bubba" McCord & Randall N. "Kip" McCord; sister, Diane Johnston; grandchildren, Jackson Wilson, Cole Wilson & Hazel Wilson. Funeral service will be 11:00AM Monday, October 10, 2016 at Fourth Ave. Church of Christ, Jim Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family & Friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Monday Morning Teachers Breakfast Group. Visitation will be 4-8PM Sunday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
