John Nichols, Jr.

Mr. John Linvell Nichols, Jr., age 70 of Franklin, TN passed away January 2, 2014. He was a member of the Professional Golfers' Association of America for forty years. Club professional at Attalla Country Club, Montgomery County Club and taught at Harpeth Valley Golf Center. Held various golf camps at the Little Course at The Golf House, Franklin, TN. Also a Realtor with Exit Realty Music City for several years and a member of Williamson County Association of Realtors. Member of Brentwood United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by parents, John Linvell, Sr. and Doris M. Edwards Nichols; brother, Donald M. Nichols and nephew, Allen Waters. Survived by: wife of 50 years, Janice Waters "Jan" Nichols of Franklin, TN; daughters, Kala (Mickey) Bodden of Franklin, TN and April Nichols of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Blair & Baley Bodden & Lakin Singleton; sister, Debbie Nichols (Roger) Jenkins of Gadsden, AL; brother in law, P.A. (Mary Dahlgren) Waters, niece, Caryn (Bo) Stark; great nephews, Chad (Kacy) Dixon and Tyler Stark. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 4:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2014 at Brentwood United Methodist Church, Rev. Dr. Laura Brantley officiating. Visitation will be 2:30 PM until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Tennessee Golf Foundation, in memory of John L. Nichols, Jr. located at Golf House Tennessee, 400 Franklin Road, Franklin, TN 37069. John taught for years and loved working with the youth. Each gift helps the Tennessee Golf Foundation meet their mission "to promote golf and its life enhancing values with an emphasis on teaching youth and the disadvantaged.
