John Walton

July 11, 1937 — January 22, 2019

John Wayne Walton, age 81 of Brentwood, TN, passed away January 22, 2019. Born in St. Louis, MO, to the late John Van Alan & Clara Albert Huskey Walton. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. John was a member of the Andrew Crockett Sons of American Revolution and a Mason with the Lodge in Columbia, IL. He was a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church. John was the Director of Air Pollution Control for the State of Tennessee. He also had a love for genealogy, Vanderbilt basketball, and spent countless hours coaching youth sports for Ricky, Eric, Robyn and Catherine. He is preceded in death by his son, Richard John Walton and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Anne (MacCartney) Walton. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Ann Ellis Walton; son, Eric Van Allen (Mary Elizabeth) Walton; daughters, Robyn Carole Walton (Jason) Padgett and Catherine Anne Walton; grandchildren, Emily Ellis Walton and Natalie Elizabeth Padgett. Funeral service will be 1:00PM Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Michael Pence officiating. Graveside service will be 9:00AM Monday, January 28, 2019, at Middle Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Brentwood United Methodist Church, 309 Franklin Rd. Brentwood, TN 37027 or the Alzheimer's Association, 478 Craighead St. Suite #200, Nashville, TN 37204.
