Johnny Humphrey

Johnny Howard Humphrey was born October 2, 1933 and was the fifth child to Early Hardin Humphrey and Maudie Virginia Givens. Howard was born in the community of Santa Fe, Maury County, TN. He moved to Nashville, TN where he met his wife, Peggy Ann Goodman, whom he married in July, 1953 in Dalton, GA.

Howard constructed a new home and resided in Madison, TN for 55 years where he raised three children. He was employed as a supervisor at Nashville Display Company of Nashville for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Madison Church of Christ. He was an automobile enthusiast and fisherman.

Howard went home to the Lord after passing away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours on October 12, 2017. Funeral services were held at the Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin, TN and officiated by Dr. Adam Tune. He is laid to rest beside his beloved mother at Lynn Cemetery in Williamson County, TN.

He is survived by his son, Johnny Douglas, daughters, Connie Lynn Hix and Debra Ann Smith, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and nine brothers and sisters.


The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Adam Tune officiating.

Burial will follow in Lynn Cemetery.
