Beloved son, brother, and uncle passed away in his sleep on Saturday, September 24 in Franklin. Tony was born on May 2, 1975, in Tompkinsville, KY. He grew up and spent his life in Brentwood and Franklin. He graduated from Franklin High School, Martin Methodist College, and Williamson College. After working for years in the retail industry, Tony followed his passion for helping young people and began working for Williamson County Schools. He worked primarily with special education students across all ages, spending the majority of his career at Brentwood High School and most recently at College Grove Elementary.

A long-time member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Tony spent many years serving in youth ministry both in the local church and throughout the Middle Tennessee Conference. His patience, gentleness, steadfast presence, and sense of humor were a great gift to all who knew him. His love of others was deeply rooted in a trusting faith in Jesus Christ. Tony was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and he loved to connect with others through sports, movies, and music.

He is preceded in death by his sister Kimberly Wesley Claybrook (Franklin); fiance, Anita Lewis (Brentwood).

He is survived by parents, Thomas and Aline Wesley, Franklin; brother, Dan (Diana) Wesley, Nashville; sister, Tena (Daniel) Mast,Lebanon; brother, Ray York, Lafayette; sister, Krista Hopkins, Danville, Virginia; niece, Amy (Rees) Greenman, Brentwood; niece, Amber (Matt) Downer, Cheverly, Maryland; nephew, Scott (Joy) Claybrook, Tullahoma; niece, Cassidy Mast, Lebanon; nephew, Caleb Mast, Lebanon; nephew, Tommy Mast, Lebanon; 7 great nieces and nephews including Clay and Thomas; future fiance, Kim Lusky, Spring Hill; and many extended family members.

A private burial will take place in early October officiated by Rev. LeNoir Culbertson and Rev. Scott Claybrook.  A public visitation will be held at The Fountains of Franklin on October 15 from 2pm to 4pm.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Tony’s broad community of friends, co-workers, and students. You enriched Tony’s life immensely, and we trust Tony enriched your life as well. We are grateful for his ability to share life’s journey with you.
