CHAPMAN, Joseph "Joey" Clay, age 42 passed away suddenly May 23, 2013 in Austin, TX of an undetected heart condition. He was born March 29, 1971 in Nashville, TN. to Joe and Carol Chapman of Franklin, TN. He attended Williamson County Schools and graduated from Franklin High in 1989. He graduated from The University of Tennessee where he played football and lettered 4 years as a kicker. He was employed by Building Stars of Austin as an assistant to his sister, owner of the business. He was a member of Berry's Chapel Church of Christ in Franklin. He was quiet, patient and kind hearted. He had a passion for traveling, music and cooking. In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister, Amy Wright (Robert) of Austin, TX. Brother, Jeff Taylor Chapman of Asheville, NC. Aunts: Mary Carter of Gainesboro, TN. Marilyn (Larry) Taylor of Smyrna, TN, Carolyn Butler (Charles) of Cookville, TN; cousins, John Cason, Cherry and Anthony Ramsey of Gainesboro, TN, Jennie Taylor of Nashville, TN, Marcia Reel of Cookville, TN, Jeanette Gutzman of Hendersonville, TN, Lee Butler (Nancy) of Alexandria, VA. Grey, Kathy, Leslie and Annie Chapman of Everette, WA, James Cherry of Ashland, KY. He is also survived by nephews Mason and Hunter Wright of Austin, TX. Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM Monday, May 27, 2013 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Johnny Fox officiating. Interment, Chapman Family Cemetery, Blackburn Fork Rd. Gainesboro, TN. Memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.
