Judy "Nanny" Marie Howell Ellis

Judy "Nanny" Marie Howell Ellis, a beloved figure in her family and community, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, in Williamson County, Tennessee where she spent all her life.

Judy was a dedicated worker, serving as a towmotor driver at Kuhns Warehouse and as an evening custodian at Hillsboro School. She balanced her professional responsibilities with a deep commitment to her family, often referred to fondly by as "Nanny." Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever cherish the time they spent with her, during which she lovingly taught them to crochet, sew, and play rummy.

An avid reader, Judy had a special love for mystery books and found joy in gardening, taking pride in her flowers. Her warm demeanor and generous heart made her a cherished presence among family gatherings, where her laughter and love could be felt by all.

Judy is survived by her devoted daughter, Angela (Tommy) King; her son, Ashton Ellis; her sisters, Ruby White and Rita Gayle (David) Gidcomb; and her dear grandchildren: Shannon Ellis, Jessie (Winston) Walters, Eric Ellis, Emily Ellis, Kasey (Jared) Haney, and T.J. King. She was also a proud grandmother to her great-grandchildren: Aiden Ellis, Ellie Walters, and Jase Walters, along with many loving nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Granville Howell and Emma Lee Mangrum Howell; her son, James Granville Ellis; her great-grandson, James Leon Ellis; and her sisters, Mary Elizabeth Skinner and Hazel Jean Watkins.

Visitation services will be held on March 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Franklin, TN. A funeral service will follow at noon, with a burial at Pond Cemetery at 2:00 PM the same day. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Judy Marie Ellis leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and creativity that will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched.
