Karl Schmid

Karl Gordon Schmid, age 81 of Franklin, TN passed away March 2, 2015. Educated atLexington High School, Lexington , MA, Lawrence Academy, Groton, MA and educated at Tufts University, Medford, MA. He was a very talented athlete. He excelled in football, baseball and basketball. Preceded in death by parents, Karl H. & Mary Gordon Schmid and brother in-law, Douglas Hood. Survived by wife of 45 years, Brownie Hood Schmid; sons, David, German "Frog" and Mark McMillen; brother, Col. Ron W. Schmid, USMC Ret.; granddaughter, Crystal McMillen; grandson, J.K. McMillen; daughter in-law, Beverly McMillen; a niece and several nephews. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00AM Friday, March 6, 2015 at St. Philip Catholic Church in the original chapel with visitation and rosary service one hour prior, Father Bala celebrant. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. Active pallbearers: Douglas Hood, Timothy Hood, James Karl McMillen, Howard Hood, Charlie Schoenbrondt & William Blackmun. Honorary pallbearers: Dr. Gary Pulliam, Dr. Daniel Halford, Dr. Robert Taylor, staff, patients & friends at Fresenius medical care of Franklin, David Nagy, Jo Anne Ambrose & Dorothy Faggello.
