L. Hill

January 17, 1945 — January 24, 2017

L. Pegine Hill of Franklin, TN, died unexpectedly January 24, 2017, at home. A memorial is planned for 3 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church on Wilson Pike in Franklin, TN with Rev. Dennis J. Meaker and Rev. Canon Gene B. Manning officiating. Following the service, there will be a reception at the church. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Tameron Hedge, Nashville, TN and sister, Madeleine M. Hill, Tuscaloosa, AL and was predeceased by her parents, Lowell and Virginia Wilson Hill. Born January 17, 1945, she graduated from Franklin High and attended George Peabody College and The University of Alabama. She worked at South Central Bell for 20 years, first in marketing and then management of new commercial data and communications systems in middle and east Tennessee. After the Bell divestiture, she joined the teams of McArthur Sanders Realtors and Franklin Realtors where her varied skills were applied to management, marketing and real estate sales for 25 years. She was later affiliated with Wilson & Associates Engineering . She was actively involved with the Heritage Foundation of Franklin and Williamson County for many years. Chief among her passion projects was an early restoration of the Joseph Wilson Home, which was subsequently added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. Her creative and artistic talents found expression in art, music, cooking and decorating, all executed with her own brand of flair. Pegine will be remembered for her sweet, fierce devotion to her family and friends and to legions of pets that trotted through her life. Original, clever and very bright, she delighted many with her quirky wit and the unfailing generosity of her love and resources. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you consider honoring Pegine with a gift to either Happy Tales Humane, 4001 Hughes Crossing #161, Franklin, TN 37064, or a charity of your choice.
