SCHELL, Mrs. Lisa Shimasaki, age 46 of Franklin, TN, August 25, 2011. Served 24 years in the natural gas industry with United Cities Gas Co., Woodward Marketing and most recently Atmos Energy Marketing. Recent national recipient of the Atmos Rising Spirit Award. Longtime member of Franklin First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was an active volunteer with the Room At The Inn Program. She also volunteered with United Way, Relay For Life and PANCAN. She enjoyed her activities with the Franklin Band Boosters. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. Preceded in death by father, James Douglas Shimasaki. Survived by: husband of 24 years, Philip Edward Schell; son, Philip Christopher Schell both of Franklin, TN; mother, Yoshiko Shimasaki, Clarksville, TN; step daughter, Jennifer Haney; step grandson, Adam Haney both of Arlington, TX; brothers, Gordon Shimasaki, Clarksville, TN, Manuel (Fay) Shimasaki, Christchurch, New Zealand & Daniel Shimasaki, Jonesboro, AR; sisters, Rita (Ron) Koontz, Bardstown, KY, Daisy (Andy) Whitten, Springfield, TN & Doris (Mike) Senters, Peachtree City, GA; father & mother in law, Philip & Hazel Schell, Newport, NC; sister in law, Tammy Steel, New Bern, NC; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Franklin First United Methodist Church, Rev. Lynn Hill officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Family & friends will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers with Atmos Energy Marketing and Attorneys and Staff of Schell, Binkley & Davies. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to PANCAN.org, Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center or The Franklin Band Boosters.
