Lloyd E. Slabach, 67, was called home to be with the Lord on February 22, 2015, in Spring Hill, TN. Lloyd was a born-again believer whose greatest desire was to glorify God with his life. He was a loving husband, a beloved son and brother, and a true friend.
Lloyd was born August 4, 1947, in Kokomo, IN, the son of Edwin and Nona (Miller) Slabach. He graduated from Iowa Mennonite School and attended Eastern Mennonite College. Lloyd was united in marriage to Karen Mullet on December 31, 1971. They spent the first several years of their life together farming in Blountstown, FL. Involvement with Slabach Construction then took them to Kalona, IA for seventeen years. Semi-retirement in 1988 brought a move to Montana to pursue other interests which included farming. In 2000, a new business opportunity took them to Florida to assist with the launch of Integrity Nutraceuticals International, where he retired in 2009. The company later relocated to Spring Hill, TN.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Mullet) Slabach of Columbia, TN, and six siblings: Herman Slabach of Kalona, IA; Elsie Lewis of Jacksonville, FL; Freeman Slabach of Sarasota, FL; David Slabach and his wife Beverly of Kalona, IA; Norma Slabach of Sarasota, FL; and Kathy Bender and her husband David of Sarasota, FL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Sonya Slabach.
Lloyd cherished time spent with family and friends. He was also passionate about serving the Lord and others through business and missions. He and Karen shared their faith and home with many people over the years. Lloyd was always up for new adventures, travel and discovery.
Lloyd had a deep love for the church and over the years served in many capacities including teacher and elder. He was recently instrumental in planting the Crossroads Bible Church near Spring Hill, TN. Lloyd also served as a board member of the Global Disciples mission organization.
Lloyd's passing leaves a void in the lives of his family and those he touched over the years. We mourn his loss but celebrate his life with Christ. He fought the good fight of faith and finished well. He will be deeply missed.
