Loren "Lorie" Brockdorf, age 67, of Franklin, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 18. Lorie was born and raised in Trenton, NJ to Herman and Helen (Levine) Kraun. After high school, she graduated from the University of Michigan, where she met her future husband, Timothy, in a dormitory elevator. After a few years living in Michigan, she and Timothy moved to St. Louis, MO where she had two sons, Todd (Rosalind) and Daniel.
Lorie was a devoted homemaker, raising her sons through moves to Pittsburgh, PA and Los Angeles. Part-time chauffer, part-time cook, part-time school tutor, she was a full-time mother who not only raised her own kids but supervised the neighborhood.
Even after her kids moved on, Lorie could always be counted on to have a hot meal ready, including her famous hamburgers, and a welcoming house open for visitors. She also loved reading and taking walks with her dog, Brady.
In addition to Timothy, Todd, and Daniel, Lorie was a Grandmother to Tyler and Ryan Brockdorf. Sister to Dana (Jerry) Mastrella, Jill (Steven Zarnowitz) Margolick, Robert (Audrey) Kraun, and Scott (Sharon) Kraun. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Williamson Memorial Gardens, 3009 Columbia Ave, Franklin, TN 37064 on Friday, March 22 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
