Louise Overbey Givens, age 94, of Williamson County, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday March 27, 2019. Louise was born in Davidson County on Jan. 20, 1925 to the Late John W. and Vivian Sweeney Overbey. Preceded in death by Sisters, Irma McPherson, Jewell Grayson, Jean Welker, Brother, John Overbey, Jr. She is survived by her wonderful husband of 74 years, John W. Givens, Jr., Son, Donald L. (Anita) Givens, Daughter, Rebecca Stanley, Grandchildren, Shane (Misty) Meador and Don (Tiffany) Givens, Jr. Great-Grandchildren, Austin, Aubree, and Avery Meador, Sisters, Janice Walden and Sonja Cummings. She was a member of the Fairview Church of Christ.
Louise worked for the phone company during WWII. Afterwards she married and then made a happy home for her family. She was a light in our world and took better care of all the family than she ever did for herself. We love her and will miss her.
A Celebration of Life for Louise will be held 1:00PM Sunday March 31, 2019 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be from 4-8PM on Saturday and one hour prior to the service. Burial in Leiper's Fork Cemetery. Active Pallbearers are Shane Meador, Don Givens Jr., Joe Welker, Chuck Walden, Jason Walden, Austin Meador. Honorary Pallbearers are George and Katherine Strickland, Ron Hudgins, Benton Mangrum, Ed Lassen, Rick Lassen, Garner Nash, Matt King, and Gipson Baucum. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
