Lt. Col. (Ret.) Michael Glen Dunning, age 71 of Columbia, TN passed away February 24, 2019. 1966 Graduate of Franklin High School and received his Bachelors Degree from Liberty University. Entered in the U.S. Marines and retired from the U.S. Army after 33 years of service. During his tenure, he worked at the Pentagon. He also served aboard the USS Kittyhawk during the Vietnam Conflict. After retirement, he served as Director of the Knoxville National Cemetery. Mike was an avid classic car collector. Preceded in death by wife, Kaye Sue Fowler Dunning; parents, Thomas & Louise Poole Dunning. Survived by: loving wife of 5+ years, Linda McArthur Dunning; daughters, Kendra (Mike) Cloyd and Jennifer (Scott) Graff; son, Scot (Jere Lynn) Douglass; stepchildren, Leah Jones and Jennifer (Rob) Rice; brothers, Thomas Dunning and Steve (Pattie) Dunning; sisters, Kendra (Jerry) Tune and Teresa (Joey) Fuqua; grandchildren, Sarah Holcombe, Amanda Cowen, Courtney & Kenleigh Douglass, Rachel Robertson, Chaz Savage, Caden and Taylor Graff; stepgrandchildren, Sarah Sironon, Claire Gosney and Emma Jones; step great grandchildren, Stella and Scarlett Sironen and other loving family members. Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 PM Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Jim Taylor officiating. Visitation will be 2-4PM Sunday prior to the funeral. Graveside services will be conducted 9:00 AM Monday, March 4, 2019 at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors.
