HULME, Lt. Col. Robert Wyatt, USAF Retired, age 91 of Franklin, TN, January 13, 2011. Born in Bordeaux, TN; 1940 Graduate of East High School, Nashville, TN; joined the Army in 1941 as a Private in the infantry; transferred to the Air Force and graduated in Class 430 D as a Lt. on April 22, 1943; served in WWII in the South Pacific as a B-24 and B-25 pilot; flew 70 missions; discharged from active duty in September 1946 as Captain in the USAF; he remained in the reserves until his retirement from the Air Force, September 16, 1979 as a Lt. Col. Member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Franklin, TN which was founded in 1848 and where a distant relative, John Wesley Hulme, preached the first sermon. He was a member of Hiram Lodge #7. Retired employee of Bell South Telephone Co. for 42 years. Preceded in death by parents, Issac Newton Hulme & Grace Bloodworth Hulme; sister, June Hulme Cavert; brothers, Kenneth Green Hulme & Issac Newton Hulme II. Survived by wife of 65 years, Roberta "Bobbie" Wright Hulme; daughters, Jan Hulme Shepard, Joyce Hulme (Jerry) Murley, Carole Hulme Parmer & Susan Hulme (Marshall) Morgan; brother, James Clayton Hulme; sister in-law, Lou Watson Hulme; grandchildren, Adam (Karen)Shepard, Andrew & Grace Wright, Jackson Murley, Lia Shepard (Mike) Flynn, Jacob (Kristin) Crawford, Mark Crawford & Marshall Morgan III; great grandchildren, Cloe, Ruby & Wyatt Crawford and Ian Morgan. Visitation will be 11AM-1PM Saturday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Private Graveside Services will follow at Leiper's Fork Cemetery.
