DINEEN, Mrs. Lucy Marzullo, age 94 passed away peacefully on July 8, 2014 in Franklin, TN. She was born in New York City to Nunzio and Margaret Marzullo and was a resident of the Manor at Steeplechase, Franklin, TN for the past thirteen years.
She graduated from Hunter College with a chemistry degree and worked as a chemist during WWII and later for Long Island Lighting Co. In 1943 she married Arthur Dineen and they lived in New York and Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Lucy is survived by her daughters, Lillian Duncavage or Brentwood, TN and Margaret â�œPeggyâ Cordovano of Sun City West, AZ; her son-in-law, James Duncavage of Brentwood, TN; grandsons, Eric (Haley) Duncavage of Clyaton, MO, Brett (Jenny) Duncavage of Pacifica, CA and Sean (Jennifer) Duncavage of Nashville, TN; great-granddaughters, Ellen, Nova, Luna and Lucy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; brothers, Frank, Sam and Ferdinand â�œSonnyâ Marzullo; parents, Margaret and Nunzio Marzullo; son in-law, Richard Cordovano.
While at the Manor at Steeplechase Lucy was a tutor in reading to school children. She loved knitting and playing cards and was a formidable Scrabble player. We will remember her as a devoted mother and wife, who took care of her husband during his final illness. We will also remember her patience, her strength, her wisdom and her smile and most of all her love of family. While we mourn her loss, we feel fortunate that she was in our lives.
A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Manor at Steeplechase, Ward Jones officiating. Memorials may be made to Willowbrook Hospice or the charity of your choice.
