ANDERTON, Mack, Age 69, who owned Brownland Farm with his wife, Margaret (Sissie) Anderton, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Mack was a well-respected horseman in middle Tennessee as well as across the country. His career as a horseman spans a long career as a rodeo exhibitor, polo player, and farrier. His legacy, Brownland Farm, today hosts 11 nationally ranked horse shows annually. Along with his sons, Robin, Peter, and Casey, Mack's strong work ethic and attention to detail is exemplified by every board on the farm being placed and nailed to his specifications. The result has become the premiere privately owned Hunter/Jumper horse show facility in the southeast United States. This farm is also a tribute for what Williamson County represents: the land, the people, and the horses. Mack was born and raised in Dade City, FL. He attended The University of Florida, Auburn University, and Texas A&M where he studied Animal Husbandry and was an all-star football player. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Margaret (Sissie) Anderton; brothers, Tom and Dale Anderton; sons, Casey, Robin, and Peter Anderton; triplet daughters, Laurie Sehon, Valerie McAnnish, and Melanie Bowman; 13 grandchildren; and 1 great granddaughter.
