REED, Marie Nixon, age 73 of Franklin, TN, passed away March 26, 2016. Marie was Valedictorian of her graduating class at Gordonsville High School and achieved perfect attendance her entire high school career. In school superlative contests, she was elected Most Studious Girl during her junior year and Most Dignified Senior Girl the following year. She worked along side of her husband Hoyt at Reed's Auto Service & Quick Lube in Franklin. Preceded in death by parents, Earl Roy and Allie Mae Chapman Nixon. Survived by son, Michael (Hope) Reed of Woodville, AL; daughter, Susan Reed (Boyd) McLean of Nolensville, TN; brothers, Earl Boyd (June) Nixon of Ashland City, TN; sisters, Gladys Ashburn and Daisy Reynolds both of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Reed Chandler McLean, Ellen Renee Reed & Matthew Curtis Reed and several other loving family members. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00PM Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Brentwood United Methodist Church, Bishop Joe Pennell and Dr. Laura Brantley officiating. Interment, Williamson Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the Joyful Noise Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to the Joyful Noise Sunday School Class and NHC Place Cool Springs.
