Marnie Pewitt

Mrs. Marnie Lee Cox Pewitt, age 75 left this world peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Thompsons Station, TN. Born in Columbia, TN to the late John R. and Evelyn Layne Cox. After her mother's early death, she was raised by her grandmother, Sadie Cox Deason, affectionately known as "Granny". Retired from U.S. Postal Service. Widowed at an early age but dedicated her life to her children. She loved gardening, cooking and baking. Longtime member of the Church of Christ. Preceded in death by husband Lemuel B. Pewitt, Jr. Survived by: sons, James "Jim" Pewitt, John (Kathy) Pewitt; daughter, June "Sissy" (David) Pratt; sister, June Williams; brother Barry (Tracey) Cox; "Nana Lee" to her grandchildren, Brant (Anne) Pewitt, Max (Heather) Beard, Bethany Pewitt Tucker and Ricky Pratt; great grandchildren, Logan Tucker, Michael, Hayden and Mason Beard, Ethan and Dylan Pratt. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, July 25, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Rev. David Sawyer & Ricky Lowry officiating. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers, Brandt Pewitt, Max Beard, Ricky Pratt, Ricky Lowry, David Skidmore and David McGee. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of Burwood Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Visitation will be 4-8PM Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at Williamson Memorial.
