On Monday, September 9, 2019, Martha Ann Scogins, loving wife, mother and devoted grandmother, passed away at the age of 73.
Martha was born on October 13, 1945 in Chattanooga, TN to Edwin and Alice Gooden Williams. She married the love of her life, Charlie on August 5, 1967 and together they raised two sons, Jason and Chris, moving from California to Huntsville, AL in 1978. Martha retired from the Huntsville Area Association of Realtors in 2012.
Martha's pride and joy were her grandchildren, Alexander, Caroline, Carter, Jordan, Payton and Abigail. She loved nothing more than spoiling them with trips to the dollar store, Walmart and Target. But best and most of all, she spoiled them with an unending, unwavering love that could only come from the one they called, Mana.
While Martha is no longer on this earth, her presence will always be felt. Her kind eyes, her beautiful smile and infectious laugh will be missed, yet remembered with joy. For those that she loved and that loved her, the memories of times together, her sense of humor and the unconditional and selfless way that Martha cared will live on and be passed down for generations to come.
Martha was preceded in death by parents, Edwin and Alice, husband Charles, brothers Joe and John and sister Mary. She is survived by sons, Jason (Catherine) of Huntsville, AL and Christopher (Angela) of Franklin, TN along with her 6 beautiful grandchildren.
At Martha's request there will be no formal service and in lieu of flowers she requested donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
