Mary Jo Anderson Vaillancourt

Mary Jo Anderson Vaillancourt, age 86 of Franklin, TN passed away February 8, 2025. Mary Jo was a native of Williamson County, TN and her family were owners of the former Franklin Laundry and Dry Cleaners. She graduated from Vanderbilt University, BA in English, and Georgia State University, MS in Education. Mary Jo worked in university administration at George State University and the University of Maryland at Baltimore. After moving back to Franklin in 1990, she owned The Mole Hole gift ship through 1996. Mary Jo worshipped at the Harpeth Hills Church of Christ. 

Preceded in death by parents, J Clark Jr and Nova Spencer Anderson; brother J Clark Anderson III and sister, Janice Anderson Herbert; stepdaughter, Gabrielle Fortier Vaillancourt. 

Survived by: devoted husband of 38 years, James R. Vaillancourt; sons, Carl Thomas “Thom” (Cheri Alexander) Archbold and William Hunt (Pamela Laurent) Archbold; stepdaughter, Andrea Drapanas Vaillancourt; sister, Nancy (John) Hubbard; grandchildren, Nathan Thomas Archbold and Zachary Locke Archbold; step grandchild, Cooper Holihan; sister-in-law, Gayle Vaillancourt Eagan; brother-in-law, Robert E. (Delores) Vaillancourt and other loving family members. 

A Celebration Life Service will be conducted 4:00 PM Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Ross Anderson and Jason Thompson officiating. Memorials may be made to The Anderson Family Scholarship, Lipscomb University, One University Park Drive, Nashville, TN 37204.
