SMITH, Mrs. Mary L. of Brentwood, TN, native of Franklin, TN passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Preceded in death by husbands, James Marvin Bennett & Luther Mason; brother, Rev. Alburn Gilliam; sister, Adell Douglas; son, James Larry Bennett; father, Clarence G. Gilliam; mother, Lattie Johnston Gilliam. Survived by husband, Nathan A. Smith; sons, Kenneth W. Bennett & Jerry O'Neal Bennett both of Maury Co.; daughters, Shirley Hyde of Nashville & Wanda F. Bunch of Franklin; sister, Peggy (James C.) Smith; step-son, Nathan A. Smith, Jr of Carona, CA; step-daughters, Margaret Tate of Canyon, TX & Rebecca Y. Talbert of Darnestown, MD; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. A long time employee of Hardaway Management Company. A former longtime member of Tusculum Hills Baptist Church and now Walker Memorial Baptist Church in Franklin, TN. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00PM Monday, August 4, 2014 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Pastor Mitchell Karnes & Jim Taylor officiating. Interment, Williamson Memorial Gardens. Family & Friends will serve as pallbearers.
