Mary Pope

Ms. Mary Elizabeth Herbert Pope, age 94, of Brentwood, TN passed away January 6, 2015. One of the first female graduates of Vanderbilt University, after graduation she moved to Washington, D. C. and worked for the government during WWII. She enjoyed golf, bridge, and genealogy. She was a member of the National Society Colonial Dames, Williamson County Historical Society and Williamson County Home Demonstration Club. Daughter of the late George Washington Carmichael and Clio Bell Herbert. Survived by sister, Virginia Herbert Bell; several nieces & nephews; and great and great great nieces & nephews. Funeral Service will be conducted at 1PM Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with visitation two hours prior to the service. Adam Grant and Jon Bell officiating. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Graceworks Ministries Fuel Pack Program.
