Mrs. Mildred "Millie" Evelyn Sullivan, age 85 of Franklin, TN formerly of Andover, MA passed away December 9, 2015. Originally from Revere, MA, Mrs. Sullivan worked for many years as an Executive Secretary for the John Hancock in Boston, MA. At the age of 39, she married the love of her life, John V. Sullivan and together they resided in North Reading and Andover, MA, Atkinson, NH and Sarasota, FL. Both were proud graduates of the Immaculate Conception School in Revere, MA (class of 1947) but did not fall in love until they worked together at the Hancock in the late 1960s. Their retirement years were spent golfing, boating, dancing, attending concerts and enjoying time with their children and grandchildren. Millie was a lover of history, politics, opera, and Boston sports teams, most especially the New England Patriots and Tom Brady. Having relocated to Franklin, TN in 2011 to be closer to their daughter's family, she was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, John V. Sullivan and brother, Alvan Goddard. Survived by daughter, Alyssa Sullivan (Mark) Volker; grandchildren, Molly and Jacob Volker; step-children, John C. (Nancy) Sullivan, Patricia (Steven) Ward, Charles (Tricia) Sullivan and Richard Sullivan; nine step-grandchildren and ten step-great grandchildren, loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and caregivers at NHC Place Cool Springs, where Mrs Sullivan was a resident for the last 8 months of her life. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Philip Catholic Church Monday, December 14, 2015 at 1:00pm with visitation one hour prior, Father Bala celebrant. Burial will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens.
