BATSON, Mr. Billy J., age 78 of Franklin, TN died on March 21, 2010 after a year long struggle with lung cancer. He has now met his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who has welcomed him to his heavenly home. Preceded in death by his parents, Joe T. & Sarah Batson; sister, Sarah (Tootsie) Fuqua. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Audrey who he met in England when serving in the U.S. Air Force. Billy was a retiree of the Production Management team at the Tennessean for many years. Also surviving, sister, Doris Binkley of Memphis, TN; brother in-law, Dick Fuqua; nieces, Carolyn (Lari) Goss of Brentwood, TN, Debra (Ron) Berger of Redlands, CA, Dee (Howard) Burgess, Linda Stewart of Memphis, TN & Jane Harper of Navarre, FL. Visitation will be at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Tuesday March 23, 2010 from 6-8PM. Celebration of Life will be conducted at Oak Valley Baptist Church, 1161 Lewisburg Pike, Franklin on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 1:00PM, Pastor Ken Parker & Lari Goss officiating with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment immediately after service at Williamson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are nephews, Howard Burgess, Lari Goss, Jonathan, Cameron, B.J. & Nicholas Goss, Robert Jamieson, Brad Norris, Charles Oates & Justin Leach. Honorary Pallbearers, Deacon Board and Golf Team at Oak Valley Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, your donations to Oak Valley Baptist Church or Alive Hospice would be appreciated.
