Mr. Buford "Boots" Nowell Beard, age 88 of Spring Hill, TN, January 18, 2011. Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force. Master Mason with 50 year membership at Lockport, IL Lodge #538. Member of the Baptist Church. Retired from General Motors with 31 years service as a tool & die maker. Preceded in death by parents, Simon Peter & Pauline Thurman Beard; brothers, Ernest, Doug, Ewing, L.J. & Thomas Beard. Survived by: wife of 22 years, Leola Parham Shouse Beard, Spring Hill, TN; sons, Alan Beard, Chattanooga, TN & Robert (Alecia) Beard, Madison, AL; daughters, Sandy Matthews & Dixie Bruggeman both of Gulf Breeze, FL; brother, Mike (Patsy) Beard, Spring Hill, TN; sisters, Rachel Beard & Doris Beard both of Columbia, TN, Jewell Wiley of Lawrenceburg, TN; step children, Lloyd (Sherry) Shouse & Sharon Shouse (Terry) Webb; grandchildren, Tim, John & Douglas Miller, Roger Matthews, Ryan, Richard, Jeremy, Anthony & Will Beard, Melissa Bruggeman, Genette Dugger & Stephanie Beard; great grandchildren, Brandon & Josh Miller, Aidan & Isabel Beard & McKennon Bruggeman; stepgrandchildren, Trent & Claire Webb, Trael & Elizabeth Webb, Stephen & Tyra Shouse, Stephanie Shouse (Andy) Lane & Susan Shouse (James) Bryant; step great grandchildren, Alan & Alana Bryant, Tanner & Cooper Shouse; very, very special great granddaughter, LeEllen Lane & great grandson, Tyler Webb and most of all his precious little dog "DeDe"; mother of his children, Inez Beard. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, Jim Taylor officiating. Interment Spring Hill Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Trent & Trael Webb, Tim Miller, Ryan Beard, Michael & Bobby Beard, Andy Lane & Patrick Lowery. Honorary pallbearers will be Bessie Hatfield, Marion & Ruby Parham, Farris & Jeanne Parham, Donzell & Mary Johnson, Barbara & Cliff Baugh, Dr. Rand Hayes & entire staff, Mr. Burrows including staff of Port Royal Kroger, Pharmacy employees at Port Royal Kroger, Dr. Crenshaw & Dr. Wyman at Vanderbilt, Nellie King & Faye Martin.
