JOHNSTON, Mr. Charles R. III, age 70 of Franklin, TN, July 18, 2011. Preceded in death by father, Charles R. Johnston, Jr.; mother, Lillian Clayton Johnston and former spouse, Frances C. Johnston. Survived by wife, Glenda V. Johnston; sons, Charles R. (Suzanne) Johnston IV of Louisville, KY & J. Kevin (Cathy) Johnston of Knoxville, TN; step-daughters, Diane (Mitch) Hagopian of Melrose, MA, Robin Strain of Cleveland, OH, Jill(Chris) Becker of Brentwood, TN & Jami (Randy) Buckner of Decatur, AL; grandchildren, Morgan Johnston, Clay & Evan Johnston; step grandchildren, Nathan England, Tristan Strain, Jimmy Hagopian, Emory, Garret & Tegwen Buckner & Halsey Becker. He graduated from West High School, served honorably in the United States Navy from 1958-1962, Graduated from George Peabody College. He worked thirty one years with the Joint University Library and Vanderbilt Medical Center. Since retirement, he has done volunteer work with CASA and Williamson County Hospital. He also enjoyed riding with different motorcycle groups. He is a member of Brentwood Methodist Church and the Wesley Forum Sunday School. Visitation will be at Brentwood Methodist Church from 1-2:30PM Wednesday, July 20, 2011. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30PM Wednesday at Brentwood Methodist Church. Honorary pallbearers, Wesley Forum Sunday School Class.
