Dale Frederick Shuck, born June 30, 1957, died April 8. Dale was preceded in death by his parents Fred L. Shuck and Nelda Pitchford Shuck. He is survived by his children Daniel, Sarah, Anna and Abigail Shuck, brother Walter C. Shuck (Kim) of Phoenix, sister Regina Nenniger (John) of Calgary, Alberta, and mother to his children and friend, Lisa Bailey.
Dale graduated from Rice University and the Owen Graduate School of Managment at Vanderbilt University. He was a Chartered Financial Analyst and worked previously at Martin-Marietta, Freddie Mac and most recently at Wipro.
Dale loved the outdoors and was happiest when sharing that love with his children and family while hiking, boating, geocaching and exploring. He was a perennial Boy Scout, always prepared, and knew a dozen creative ways to fix things or create something out of nothing.
Dale's work ethic and his faith were both strong and sure. He served in multiple leadership and servant roles in churches over the years, as well as with Habitat for Humanity and Christmas in April. Dale was a giver, always putting the needs of others before his own. He never knew a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need, as demonstrated so beautifully in his final act of giving by being an organ donor.
But his heart and soul were his children, who he always put first in every way. His dedication to their interests and pursuits, his devotion to their well-being and his delight in who they were and were becoming, was evident to all who knew him. They will forever reap the blessings of his selfless devotion.
Memorial donations made be made in Dale's honor to Rice University or The Centennial High School Cross Country Team, c/o Shawn Carter.
