Mr. Dale Ward

Mr. Dale Eugene Ward, age 64 of Spring Hill, TN passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at his residence. Born in Shreveport, LA and began his career as a band director at Haughton High School in Bossier City, LA. After relocating to Tennessee Mr. Ward was employed with the Franklin Special School District as a full time teacher assistant in the computer lab at Poplar Grove Elementary. He had been in his present position at Poplar Grove since August 2012. He joined FSSD as an assistant at Franklin Elementary School in 2003, where he remained for nine years prior to transferring to Poplar Grove. The move to Poplar Grove enabled him to spend more time with his wife, Renee, who has served as Poplar Grove's Media Specialist since the school opened in 2000. Mr. Ward was deeply respected by both school faculties, who have shared countless stories of his generosity and service. Even before he was officially hired by the district, Dale was a full-time volunteer at Poplar Grove, helping troubleshoot computer problems and pitch in wherever help was needed. His spirit of volunteerism and giving back to the community will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of working with him. Survived by: wife of 39 years, Renee Ward; mother, Dorothy Prine; sister, Judy Daniels; mother in law, Mercille Kelly; brother in law, Randy (Janet) Frame; nieces, Brandy (Jeremy) Armstrong, Sherry (Chris) Jones & Angela (Nathan) Stewart; great niece, Madison Armstrong and dear friend, Dana Mabe Schultz. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 1:00-3:00PM on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home.
