TATE, Donald R., 78, of Murfreesboro, Oct. 1, 2010 at Baptist Hospital, Nashville. Retired co-owner of Tate's Upholstery. Born in Jeffersonville, Ind., he was preceded in death by his parents, Ermine and Mary Thelma Tate; wife, Sharon Bauerla Tate; brother, Charles Tate; sisters, Dorothy Tate Sampson and Deanna Tate Pendley.
He is survived by his wife Edna Statts Tate, Murfreesboro; sons, David D. (Juanita) Tate, James (Cecily) Tate, Nashville, and Scott (Lisa) Tate of Winston-Salem, N.C.; daughters, Cheryl Tate Davis and Larry Dennis of Gallatin and Mindy Tate and Mike Thompson of Franklin; grandsons, Josh Tate of Nashville and Jonah Tate of Winston-Salem; brothers, Bob (Louise) Tate and Marion (Peggy) Tate, all of Jeffersonville, Ind.; brother-in-law, Phocian Sampson of Nashville; stepdaughter, Beth (Chuck) Wilson; stepgrandchildren, Christopher Wilson, Austin Davila and Marleé Wilson; step great grandchild, Bradon Davila; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and the couple's dog, Benji. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at Gallatin Senior Center with a memorial service with Pastor Rich Gipson and Phil Boeing officiating.
