Mr. Glenn Huff

HUFF, Mr. Glenn, age 89, peacefully passed away on, April 21, 2011. Longtime resident of Brentwood since 1949 where he started Huff's Grocery. Mr. Huff grew up in the grocery business with his father & family in the Burwood Community. He was an avid baseball player during his youth and stayed active through his adult years. Active member of Owen Chapel Church of Christ. He & his wife, Honor were among the founding families of AGAPE. The Huff couple graciously opened their home to those in need. He was one of the founders of Churches of Christ Disaster Relief. He received the highly acclaimed "Legend Award" presented by the Williamson County-Franklin Chamber of Commerce. He was a recipient of Brentwood Rotary Club Community Service Award. Glenn & Honor received the "Helping Hand Award" from the Williamson Medical Center for their work with cancer patients. They spent many hours transporting patients to and from airports, to doctors appointments along with other acts of love, care and support. Faithful and devoted servant to his Lord & Savior. He was a loving, sweet and generous soul, a gentle man with a giant heart who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Honor Allen Huff; parents, Robert & Hattie Stovall Huff; brothers, Robert and Earl M. "Mutt" Huff; sisters, Agnes Caldwell, Virginia Nichols and Ann York. Survived by: sons, Mike (Patte) Huff and Terry (Anne) Huff all of Brentwood, TN; brother, Ken Huff, Burwood Community; sister, Dottie (J.W.) McLemore, Grassland Community; brother in law, Waldon Smithson, Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Lynne, Dawson and Lindsay Huff; step grandchildren, Niki and Michelle Chapman. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Monday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Tuesday at Otter Creek Church of Christ. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Otter Creek Church of Christ, 409 Franklin Road, Brentwood, TN, Keith Crowe officiating. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers.
