Mr. Harold Carden

Harold "Dwain" Carden, 85, of South Bend, IN passed away at 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in his home. He was born on April 8, 1927 in Chattanooga, TN to Guy Walker and Eva (Bare) Carden. On April 19, 1947 in Chattanooga, TN he married the former Virginia Jo Adams.
Mr. Carden is survived by his wife sixty-five years, Virginia Jo Carden; two sons, Barry Carden of Tuscaloosa, AL and Tony (Karen) Carden of Wakarusa, IN; two daughters-in-law, Linda Carden of Franklin, TN and Melanie Carden of Nolensville, TN; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Two sons, Guy Dwain Carden and Dennis Monroe Carden preceded him in death.
Mr. Carden served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He has lived in South Bend for the last thirty years. He retired as a publications manager for LeSEA Broadcasting Network after twenty-five years of service. He was a member of the Christian Center.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Christian Center, 530 E. Ireland Road, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Friday in the church. Military and graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. (central time) Monday, September 24, 2012 at Williamson Memorial Garden, Franklin, TN. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is handling the arrangements.
