Mr. Harry Lameier

LAMEIER, Mr. Harry J. "Jack" age 69 of Brentwood, TN passed away May 31, 2012. Jack was a longtime record promotion representative with a career that spanned 40 years at CBS/Sony Music. He began his career at CBS working to get artists played on country radio, worked his way through marketing, and retired with Sony as Senior VP of promotion. He was a friend, mentor, and father figure to many young men and women getting started in the world of record promotion. After retiring in 2001, he opened Jack's Place Consulting, working with labels like Curb Records. Jack served on the board of the Academy of Country Music for 28 years, also serving as President. He has been an ACM Lifting Lives Board member since the charity was formed. The ACM honored Jack with the Mae Boren Axton Award in 2001 for his years of dedication and service to the ACM. He was instrumental in the move of the ACM to Las Vegas. In 2006, he received the President's Award from the Country Radio Broadcasters. He was loved and respected by so many in the industry. Jack also had a passion for golf, metal detecting, and Civil War reenactment. He was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He served as usher, member of the Seniors Group, and was a previous President of the Men's Club. His greatest passion was his family. Preceded in death by son, Harry John Lameier, III. Survived by wife of 49 years, Connie Lameier; son, Brandon Lameier; daughter, Dr. Lynn (John) Ellington; grandchildren, Neil and Zack Lameier and Jessie and Catie Ellington; brothers, Tom (Audrey) Lameier, Jim (Esmerelda) Lameier and Jerry (Joyce) Lameier. Memorial service 11:00AM Monday, June 4, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9100 Crockett Rd. Brentwood, TN 37027, Father Edward Alberts officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org. Visitation will be 1-4:00PM Sunday at Holy Family Catholic Church Parish Hall and 9-11AM Monday at the church. Services in care of WILLIAMSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME (615) 794-2289.
