Mr. Harry Morel, Sr.

MOREL, Mr. Harry, Sr. age 86, died February 8, 2013. He was survived in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Bryan Langston. He is survived by his children, Brenda (Anthony) Resha, H. (Patty) Holmes Morel Jr., Betty (Robert) Burchett, Leigh (Peter) Zimmerman and McNairy ( Erin) Morel. His grandchildren, Catherine (Lincoln) Lakoff, Paige Resha, Bill (Malia), John (Alana) and Anne Morel, Robert Jr. and Bracey Burchett, Sarah, Deirdre and Katie Zimmerman and Laura, Lynde, Landon, Liam, Luke, Lizbeth and Lachlyn Morel, great grandchildren, Madeline and Logan Lakoff, Ellie Burchett and W. Holmes Morel. He wanted to recognize Tracy Poynor for her love and care through out the years. He was lovingly cared for by his long time friend, Jane Brown and by Carrie and Scott Stafford and their wonderful team of caregivers at Comfort Keepers. He graduated Stokes School and Duncan Preparatory School. He played piano and studied Opera with Miss Anna Mae Kennedy. He was asked to study Opera in New York, but his love of farming kept him in Brentwood. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Bryan Langston in 1951. He was a dedicated farmer raising cattle, growing crops and milking cows for fifty years. When he retired the dairy farm, he continued to farm crops, raise cattle and his real love of restoring his machinery. He was a member of the Thompson Station Baptist Church Sunday School class and the Lawrence Grove Baptist Church. He served as a Williamson County Commissioner for eight years. He was a member of the Andrew Jackson and Lt. Andrew Crockett Chapters of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a contributor to the Hermitage Association and The Belmont Mansion. Harry so loved to talk, laugh and tell stories. He loved his family, farming, and being a side line coach for his children's athletics. He was highly regarded and respected in his field, and will long be remembered for his abilities. He will be missed by all, but we will hold in our hearts all the memories of our times together. Visitation will be at the Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin, Tennessee on Sunday, February 10, 2013, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. The immediate family will have the interment at a later time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Harry Morel, Sr. to the Lawrence Grove Baptist Church or Guardian Hospice of Cool Springs.
