Mr. Hayward Townsend

Mr. Hayward Vernon Townsend, age 67, of Spring Hill, TN, passed away July 6, 2011. Hayward was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who embodied all things good and kind. Hayward had a decorated career with the U. S. Air Force that spanned two decades. He served in Vietnam, spent three years stationed at the White House, and seven years on board Air Force One. Hayward will forever be remembered as a person who loved to bring joy into other people's lives. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by parents, Clayton & Naomi Palmer Townsend and brother, Clayton Townsend. Survived by his wife, Susan Townsend of Spring Hill, TN; sons, David (Jenny) Townsend of Spring Hill, TN and Andrew Townsend of Danville CA; grandchildren, Grace, Olivia, Sam, Naomi & Viola Townsend; sister, Mary Ellen Terrell of Laurel, DE. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, with Pastor Ann Bassett officiating. Interment in Spring Hill Memorial Park, with full military honors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
