Mr. James Hickman, Jr.

HICKMAN. James Winfred, Jr., age 64 of Franklin, TN. July 8, 2011. Graduate of Franklin High School; joined the U.S. Air Force serving one year in Vietnam; retiree of CSX Transportation as a locomotive engineer; member of Franklin Church of Christ where he served as a deacon; a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society and a proud member of the Music City Chorus, the Nashville Chapter of the BHS, where he served as Vice-President of Chapter Development; he was the lead in the Barbershop Quartet, That's Life; in 2010 he was chosen the Music City Chorus Barbershopper of the Year and was awarded the Frank Cristina Spirit Award. Preceded in death by parents, James W. Hickman, Sr. and Eleanor Bond Thornton Hickman; brother, Jerry T. Hickman. Survived by Wife, Gayle Garret Hickman; son, William Stacy (Sandy) Hickman of Old Hickory, TN; daughter, Jaime E. (Dan) Hester of Spring Hill, TN; granddaughter, Makayla Hester; stepmother, Sybil Burns Hickman of Franklin, TN; brother, Michael O. (Lillian) Hickman, Sr. of Woodbridge, VA; Sister In-laws, Mary B. Hickman of Aiken, SC, Janice G. (Bill) Cude & Marie (Russ) Faulkner all of Franklin, TN & numerous extended family whom he loved and shared in their lives. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00PM Monday, July 11, 2011 at Franklin Church of Christ, Evangelists Shane Scott & Mitch Davis officiating. Interment, Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers: Stace Hickman, Phil Barnes, Jimmy Frasier, David Coleman, Henry Long & Van Perkins. Honorary pallbearers: Elders & Deacons of Franklin Church of Christ, Retirees & Employees of CSX Transportation, Charlie McCann, Clyde Perkins, George Luken & Members of the Music City Chorus.
