Mr. James Williams

March 25, 1934 — September 11, 2013

WILLIAMS, JAMES AUBURN, Age 79, died peacefully at his home, with his 3 daughters by his side, in Franklin, TN on September 11, 2013. Preceded in death by his wife Carole Milam Williams, his parents Katherine Pridemore and James Turner Williams, and his brother Turner Pridemore Williams. Jim was born in Nashville, graduated from Duncan Preparatory School and Vanderbilt University and did graduate work at Rutgers University. He served in the U.S. Army and was a banker. He was devoted to his family, loyal to his friends, and his sense of humor brought smiles to many throughout his life. He is survived by his beloved daughters and their husbands, Lynn Williams Sawyer (Andy) of Franklin, TN, Anne Williams Hall (Mike) of Collierville, TN and Lissa Williams Anthon (Donny) of St. Louis, MO, and his adored grand-children: Hailey, Andrew and Graham Sawyer, Caroline and Turner Hall, and Tripp, Jake, Milam and Ella Anthon; his sister Kitty Williams Donnan (David), sister-in-law Reca Lynch Williams, his brother-in-law Jimmy Milam (June), nieces, nephews, cousins and many longtime friends. The family is forever grateful for the care he received in his home during the last weeks of his life from the Band of Angels and Alive Hospice. The amazing care by Terri, Amber, Cassy, Samantha and Dominique will forever be appreciated and remembered. The Active Pallbearers will be his sons in law and grandsons. The Honorary Pallbearers will be: Harold Goodrum, Judge Seth Norman, Mary and Henry Lipscomb, Linda and Hal Hardaway, Kathy Hancock and Anne Dale. Donations in his memory may be made to: Belle Meade United Methodist Church, Alive Hospice or Nashville Drug Court. Visitation will be held Saturday September 14 from 10:00 to 12:00 noon, at Belle Meade United Methodist Church, 121 Davidson Rd., Nashville, and the service will be held at 12 noon in the sanctuary. Burial will immediately follow at Harpeth Hills, 9090 Hwy. 100, Nashville.
