GLEAVES, Mr. Joe Clyde, age 74, born November 25, 1937 passed away January 31, 2012. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Denise Gleaves; parents, Mary Louise Gleaves and Robert Mervin Gleaves. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jane Caperton Gleaves; son, William Stephen Gleaves; grandchild, Zane Gleaves; Son, Gregory Caperton Gleaves and wife Lei Ann; Grandchildren, Luke Gleaves and Ava Gleaves; brother, Robert N. Gleaves; aunt, Joy Troxler. Joe graduated from Shelbyville High School, David Lipscomb College, received MSW from Florida State University. He was employed by the TN. Dept. of Human Services for 35 years. He was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ as evidence by his love of others and service to those in need. He will be remembered for his kindness and gentleness to all who know him. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 and 9:00-10:00AM on Thursday, February 2, 2012. Memorial Service will follow Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 10:00AM at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial Service will be at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
