JONES, Mr. Joe Turner, age 89 of Franklin, TN, went to be with the Lord on October 3, 2012. Mr. Jones served his country in the Philippines during World War II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart Award. Retired after 35 years of service from South Central Bell. He was the owner and founder of Franklin Carpet Company. Active member of the First United Methodist Church in Franklin and was a member of the Men's Chorus for fifty years. He enjoyed buying and restoring antique cars. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to many. He will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Stokes Jones. Survived by: wife, Erma Lee Needham Jones; son, Gary (Annetta "Suzie") Jones; daughter, Teresa (Victor) Blackburn; sister, Martha Waller; grandchildren, Clint & Amanda Hassell & Chasity Jones; several great grandchildren & nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Rev. Lynn Hill officiating. Interment Triune Cemetery. Active pallbearers, Jack Wheeler, Dan Fuller, George Jones, Barry Sewell, Nickey Jones, Jay Wheeler, Jim Yates, Jack Vaughn & Dr. Lance Needham. Honorary pallbearers will be the Horace Edgmon Sunday School Class.
