Mr. Joe Willard Steward, age 75 also known as "Tokyo Joe" or "Tumbleweed" passed away August 25, 2013 at his daughter's home after a brief illness with leukemia. He was the son of the late Muncie Steward and Louise Adams Waller. He grew up and attended school in Maury County. He was an avid fisherman and loved the water. His pastime was spent talking with friends on the CB radio and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also known for his billiard skills. He had a kind spirit and a loyal love for his family. Survived by: wife of 44 years, Dorothy Mash Steward, Joe and Dorothy had one daughter, Dottie Jo (Daniel) Warrick, three grandchildren, Joseph, Gabriel & Catherine. Joe also had two sons from a previous marriage, Joey (Gail) Steward and Michael (Tina) Steward and six grandchildren. Also survived by mother in law, Eddie Mae Mash; sister in law, Ginger (Tim) Remer, nieces, Jessica Martin & Leslie (Bryan) Cole and great nieces, Matti Martin & Anniston Cole. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, Jim Taylor officiating. Active pallbearers will be Joey Steward, Michael Steward, Joseph Warrick, Gabriel Warrick, Daniel Warrick & Billy Warrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Enoch George, Billy Martin, Tim Remer, Marvin Fautt, Chris Newcomb, Derrick Burgett, Darrell King, Maurice Bellafant, David Bozeman, Ashley Brown and all his CB friends. Memorials may be made to the Joe Steward Memorial Fund.
