Mr. John Helm, Jr.

HELM III, Mr. John Thomas "Tommy" age 76, a lifetime resident of Franklin, TN passed away June 6, 2011 . A graduate of Battle Ground Academy Class of 1953 and Vanderbilt University School of Engineering Class of 1957 where he also completed the NROTC program. He achieved the rank of Commander before retiring from the U.S. Navy. He also was a licensed mechanical engineer and retired as a professor in the Industrial Arts Dept. of MTSU in 1999. Preceded in death by parents, John Thomas Helm, Jr. & Ruth B. Helm Thurman. Survived by wife, Lillian M. "Beth" Helm; children, Ellen Helm (Guido) Sacchi & John Thomas (Alicia) Helm IV; stepsons, Rich (Tracy) Marlin & Pat (Missy) Marlin; grandchildren, John Everett, William & Smith Helm, Lorenzo & Alessia Sacchi; step grandchildren, Ryley, Lily, Josie, Clayton, Patrick & Anna Sophia Marlin, Jon Franklin, Linzi Burks; sister, Martha Jean Helm (Bernice) Anglin; nephews, Randy & Matt (Rae Lee) Anglin; four great nieces & one great nephew. The family would like to thank all the employees of NHC Fairgrounds for their loving and professional care, especially Wanda, Tammy & Chris. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:30AM Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Jim Taylor & Myron Keith officiating. Interment, Williamson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be John Helm IV, Guido Sacchi, Rich & Pat Marlin, Randy, Matt & Billy Anglin. Memorials may be made to Battle Ground Academy.
