Mr. John Pigg

Mr. John Vecie Pigg, age 95, died Monday, January 10, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital. Mr. Pigg formerly of the Brace Community of Lawrence County, TN had made his home in Nashville for several years. Mr. Pigg, born in Lawrence County, son of the late John M. and Dona Elvira Young Pigg, operated a rolling store for 25 years, was a farmer, a school bus driver for 16 years in Lawrence County and a member of Ethridge Church of Christ. Preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Lougyne White Pigg in 2004, and daughter, Reba Ann Pigg. Survived by son, Edwin (Pat) Pigg of Nashville, TN; daughters, Yvonne (Bill) Giles of Annapolis, MD, Bethel Aaron of Haines City, FL, Janice (Clint) Cooper of Conyers, GA, Cheryl (John) Primm of Spring Hill, TN and Valerie (Don) Ross of Tallahassee, FL; sister, Flora Benson of Lawrenceburg, TN; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Friday, January 14, 2011 at Ethridge Church of Christ with Glen Alexander and Duane Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in John Lay Cemetery in Ethridge, TN. Active pallbearers will be Trent Pigg, Blair Brandt, Glenn Lawhorn, Steve Mahaney, Duane and Chris Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Ethridge Church of Christ. Visitation with the family will be 3-7 PM Thursday at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, 5239 Main St., Spring Hill, TN and one hour prior to the service at the church.
