Mr. Julian Guardia

de la Guardia, Mr. Julian, Jr., of Franklin, TN completed his earthly journey on April 22, 2012. Born to the late Julian de la Guardia and Elvira de la Guardia-Primelles in Havana, Cuba. Preceded in death by his daughter, Vivian Gates; daughter in law, Pat de la Guardia; sister and brother, Graciela Canales and Brother Gerard de la Guardia, O. Cist. Survived by his beloved wife, Alma Moore de la Guardia and cherished son, Joe de la Guardia. Other survivors precious to Julian include granddaughter, Jill Christina (Mark) Schnurr; great grandchildren, Kelsey, Justin and Ryan Schnurr; sister, Elvira Herold, and other loving family members. Julian was a citizen of the world. As International Sales Manager of Aladdin Industries, he developed many enduring friendships. After his retirement from Aladdin, he and Alma traveled widely broadening their fellowship of international friends. An avid golfer, Julian enjoyed both the sport and the cadre of friends who bonded around their common interest. He was a loyal, active member of St. Philip Catholic Church of Franklin. Friends and family will gather there to celebrate this kind and gentle man from 5-8PM Thursday at the church and 10AM Friday, April 27, 2012 with a memorial mass at 11:00 AM Friday at St. Philip Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lebanon Road, Nashville, TN. The family wishes to express gratitude to the many friends who have extended warm support during Julian's illness, and to Dr. Kenneth Dodge and medical personnel at Williamson Medical Center and NHC Place for skilled assistance and acts of kindness.
