POTEETE, Mr. Leslie Freeman, age 81 of Franklin, TN passed away August 9, 2013. Longtime resident of Williamson County and renown for his banjo playing. 2000 Living Legend Award presented to him by the Bluegrass Along The Harpeth organization. Preceded in death by parents, Emory & Susie Lee Watkins Poteete, brothers, Charles & Emory, Jr. Poteete; grandson, Joshua Jennings. Survived by: daughters, Freda (Wallace) Joslin, Denise (Greg) Gladstone & Patsy Sams; grandchildren, Melissa (Brad) Smithson, Jessica & Jeremy Jennings, Leslie (Jeremy) Hogue, Donna (Drew) Williams; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Lighthall (Marie) Poteete; sisters, Willie Blythe Hood, Lucy (Charles) Giles, Shirley Carpenter & Jean Holland; sister in laws, Mary Ann Poteete & Elizabeth Poteete. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Jim Taylor & Mitchell Karnes officiating. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike & David Tomlin, Amy Nelson, J.T. Langley, Charles Edward & Eddie Hood, Clyde Stephens, Henrietta Whidby, Elaine & Lacy Miller; staff of Williamson Memorial & staff of Grace Healthcare & Williamson County Bluegrass Band.
