Mr. Robert E. "Bob" Kergan, age 86, of Spring Hill, TN, passed away December 2, 2011 at Veterans Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. Veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during WW II aboard the USS Bunker Hill. Bob received the Purple Heart Medal, WW II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars. Bob was a 32nd Degree Mason, a Shriner for 44 years, and retired Clerk/Manager at Hoods Liquor Store in Franklin, TN. Preceded in death by parents, Robert Cecil & Helen Rice Kergan and brothers, John Kergan & Cecil Gene Kergan. Survived by wife of 42 years, Linda Skinner Kergan of Spring Hill, TN; sons, Blair Kergan of Sterling Heights, MI & James "Jimmy Jack" Kergan of Columbia, TN; daughters, Laurie Shackelford of Murfreesboro, TN, Nancy (George) Sanders of Joelton, TN & Lynn (Joey) Stevens of Spring Hill, TN; brother, James (Erma) Kergan of Ohio; sister in law, Darlene Kergan of Maryland; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and life long friend, Jerry Hood. A Celebration of Life, with military honors, will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 5, 2011 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, Dale Stevens officiating.
