PARKER, Christine (Peggy) Jenkins - Age 87 of Franklin. July 28, 2010. Preceded in death by parents, John Wilburn and Sarah Mattie Viola Warren Jenkins; brothers, Jessie, John W., Jr., Lum, Jimmy, and Justus; sisters, Girlene Jenkins, Lorraine Jenkins Castleman, and Mary Jenkins Griffin. She is survived by her husband of 63 and a half years, Thomas Gibbons Parker; children Linda Parker (Michael) O'Neal, Thomas Jenkins (Susan) Parker, Patrick Gibbons (Tammy) Parker, and Cindy Parker (Rick) Brown; grandchildren Amber Parker (John) Pierce, Thomas S. (Katie), Justin, Chris (Kristen), Patrick, Daniel, Andrew, and Paige Parker, Sarah O'Neal (Paul) Flanigen, and Lauren Christine Brown (Derek) Smith, Parker and Davis Brown; great grandchildren, Lily, Ryan, Johno and Anna Pierce, Farris and Cook Parker, and Mason Parker; brother, Douglas (Joan) Jenkins; sisters, Lucille Wright, Margaret Lanius, Martha (John) Martinez, Wilma (Gene) Cunningham, Carolyn (David) Booth, Nancy (Richard) Huddleston; sisters-in-law, Montez Jenkins and Lillie Parker Plavich; 23 nieces and nephews, 46 great nieces and nephews; 9 great-great nieces and nephews. A native of Hickman County and a graduate of Centerville High School, she moved to Nashville after graduation, worked at Sears, Roebuck, and after her marriage to Thomas, became a homemaker upon the birth of her first child. She resided in Marietta, Georgia for 17 years, returning to live in Middle Tennessee in 1986 where she was a member of Forest Home Church in Franklin, TN. She was a long time member of the Davidson County Home Demonstration Club and an avid youth athletic Mom and MawMaw. Tommy Daniel will preside over the celebration of her life at 12 Noon Friday, July 30, 2010 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4-8PM Thursday and two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203. Pallbearers are the Grandsons. Interment to follow at Jenkins Family Cemetery, Lyles, TN.
