Mrs. Claudia Mangelsdorf

MANGELSDORF, Mrs. Claudia Jeanne Harris, age 73 of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away on July 29, 2010 after a short but valiant struggle with cancer. Mrs. Mangelsdorf was born on October 31, 1936 in Shelbyville, Tennessee to the late Claude Harris and Kitty Bernice Phillips Harris, who predecease her, along with her six sisters. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard Charles Mangelsdorf, Sr., sons Richard Charles Mangelsdorf, Jr. (Victoria) of Brentwood, Todd Henry Mangelsdorf of Leipers' Fork, daughter Susan Mangelsdorf Archey (Kevin) of Memphis, six grand children, sister Mary Ann Cerami of Port Arthur, Texas and her many beloved nieces and nephews. Jeanne was an active member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Franklin for the past 40 years. As a member of the church, she was instrumental in the church's adoption of the Chrismon tree tradition for the Christmas season, and the delivery of weekly church sermons via audiotape to disabled church members unable to attend services. She served on the church's planning committee, building committee and was an active member of the Mary Martha Sunday school class. Jeanne loved Bethlehem and all the friendships born there throughout the past four decades. Jeanne recently retired after a 24 year career in real estate with Johnson and Thompson Realtors, and was a member of the Williamson County Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. Her passions were her family, young children and the elderly and her church. Pursuant to Jeanne's wishes, the family desires that in lieu of flowers, please do a "Good Deed" for someone in need of a favor or a loving, helping hand. Those wishing to send a memorial for Jeanne are encouraged to make a donation to the building fund at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 2419 Bethlehem Loop, Franklin, Tennessee 37069. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Mary Martha Sunday School class. Active pall bearers are Dwight Landers, Kevin Archey, Mark Cowherd, Jimmy Stacy, George Ralls, C.W. Baxter, Jason Thames, and Craig Mullinax. Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00PM Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 2419 Bethlehem Loop Rd. Franklin, TN 37069.
